FIRST REMEMBERED

THE FOUNDER OF MEMMORI

Born with a congenital brain tumor, They were bestowed with a first generation bioelectric Memplant, which substituted some key frontal-parietal neurofunction. Though the operation was a success, damage to Their cranial nerve was irrepairable; Their left eye would never open.

Expected to die within the week, They proved stubborn even as an infant, surviving two bouts of pneumonia, the outset of the Canam Civil War, and a traffic accident that tragically claimed the lives of Their parents. After attempts to place Them in state care were unsuccessful, They were taken in by Dr. Demeter Wise, Memtec's Head of Neurology.

In Their final 2144 synoema, "My Memory," They would depict Dr. Wise splitting Them open like a pomegranate, eating Their seeds, spitting Them out into the dirt, and sleeping as They grew into a mighty orchard.

As a child, They were reluctant to speak, but became inconsolable when ostracised, misunderstood, or ignored. After five years of speech pathology, They are said to have finally snapped, shouting "Why do you want words? This not how I speak!"

The world watched in disbelief as the first intellectually augmemted child went on to defy all expectations. They could speak in full sentences within six months and could read full paragraphs of English and Ladino by Their first birthday. [x]

As a child, They enjoyed rewiring household appliances, building birds out of plastic and scrap metal, and composing classic hard rock hits. [x] By age seven, They were addressing conferences worldwide on bioelectric neuroscience, the benefits of memtec integration, and Joan Jett’s Runaways Era.

They were a prodigy in many ways and an upset in others, professing truths about The Way It Is that were not widely accepted at the time.

In 2100, They established the MemNET, which allowed three members to transmit and receive memories for the first time. Alongside Their revolutionary memplant redesigns, they introduced a biosensor program that detects tiny traces of cancer in the body, as well as a subroutine that...
